Brian Leu is the Head of Multi-Asset Trading at the California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS), overseeing the trading and execution strategies across equities, currencies, sovereign bonds and multi-asset class derivatives. He also supports the management of the leverage and liquidity platform, including cross-asset security financing activities.

Brian has more than two decades of institutional investment experience. Prior to joining CalPERS in 2009, he was focused on investment banking and private equity investments at Sacramento-based DCA Partners. Previously, he was a member of the Equity Research team at Deutsche Bank and an investment analyst at a long-short equity hedge fund in New York City. Brian earned his MBA from the New York University Stern School of Business and an economics degree from Duke University. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designations, and he is also a past president of the CFA Society of Sacramento.
